Bourda Market occupies a block between Regent Street, Orange Walk, Robb Street and Alexander Street, in the ward of Bourda east of the city centre. It is the market Georgetown's households use for fruit and vegetables, with produce arriving from the farms along the East Coast and the East Bank before dawn.
The covered market and the streets around it, especially Bourda Street and the lanes off Regent Street, form one continuous trading district. It is less of a tourist stop than Stabroek and more of a working market, which is the reason to visit.
The Georgetown Cricket Club ground at Bourda, which hosted Test cricket from 1930 until the national stadium at Providence opened, lies a few blocks north. The market is about a twenty-minute walk from Stabroek Market along Regent Street.
